Biography

I was born in Evanston, IL and raised in the Village of Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago. I attended Niles West High School and was a member of the swimming and diving team all four years, earning the honor of Captain my senior year. I also played baseball there for three years before becoming the first student Public Address Announcer at the school. When choosing between colleges, I decided on Bradley University because of it’s Sports Communication program, as well as the numerous opportunities due to the many professional teams in the area.

While at Bradley, I worked for the Peoria Rivermen while they were still in the American Hockey League. My sophomore year, I got the opportunity to work on the student crew, “Braves Vision”, that partnered with ESPN3 to broadcast all of Bradley’s athletic events. During my three years with Braves Vision, I announced soccer, volleyball, baseball, and softball games, as well as running much of the behind the scenes equipment, including audio and video switchers, cameras, and replay and graphics machines. I was also afforded the opportunity to work with WEEK-TV (25) as an associate video producer, video taping high school, college, and professional sporting events for on-air segments broadcast throughout Central Illinois. I was able to do all this while earning a double major in Sports Communication and Business Management & Administration

The most valuable opportunity for me was the chance to become the color commentator for the Peoria Mustangs of the North American Tier 3 Hockey League (NA3HL). After just one season, I took over as the “Voice of the Peoria Mustangs”, where over the course of the next two seasons, I helped to elevate the broadcast beyond just the game itself. My player interviews and player bio cards helped to separate them from previous years, earning me the opportunity to become the Director of Media Relations & Broadcasting for the Odessa Jackalopes of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) after my graduation from Bradley in May of 2016.

After two seasons in Odessa, I moved up the ladder to the Madison Capitols of the United States Hockey League (USHL) where I served as the Director of Media Relations. Over the course of three seasons, I broadcasted games for the team as the play-by-play announcer, simulcast on both HockeyTV.com and Classic Rock 102/Mixlr, and hosted the weekly hour-long “Jacks Power Hour” radio show. In addition, I maintained the social media platforms and website presence and was responsible for all of the club’s graphic design work and community engagements.

My wife and I bought our first home in Madison and got married during our time in Wisconsin, but after three years we received the opportunity to move to Charleston, SC to serve as the Director of Communications & Broadcasting for the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. While working for the Stingrays, I served as the play-by-play broadcaster for all games on the Stingrays Broadcast Network, FloHockey, and Caps Radio 24/7 while also producing everything from commercials to advertisements.

I currently reside in Ladson, SC with my wife Becca, dog Rolo, and our newest addition, Madison, who was born May of 2022.
